Dr. Robert Bernstein, PHD

I was assessed at the age of 16 by Dr Bernstein, at my father’s request. This entailed a one time appointment comprised of IQ and Rorschach tests as well as other elements of the ‘full battery’ of psychological testing. Beyond teenage angst and mild depression the doctor reported no significant findings. This year, at 40, I have been diagnosed with ADHD and autism spectrum disorder and finally have some understanding of why I had always felt so out of place. Obviously, knowledge of both conditions has improved exponentially since 1999, as has the recognition unique presentations in females. I am generally happy, successful and my self-esteem is rapidly improving as I begin to understand myself better, but, I cannot help but imagine how much pain could have been avoided had a professional noticed way back then.

I went to Dr. Bernstein several years ago and he is an excellent Psychologist who helped me leave an emotionally abusive relationship. Can’t say enough good things about him!
