The first thing he told me was that his job is to give me drugs. Which, in my opinion, literally just makes him a glorified drug dealer. He doesn't seem to grasp that psychiatry is about more than prescribing drugs, and then sending patients on their way, it is about caring for them, which he doesn't. I have seen a lot of mental health specialists, and I can usually tell when they are just in it for the money, and he only cares about his paycheck. I told him I didn't want to meet with him anymore because he doesn't help and just shoves medications in my face without listening to what I am telling him, and he threatened to not refill my prescription of Escitalopram if I didn't keep meeting with him. Keep in mind this is after I had been hospitalized for mental health issues and needed the medication. Thank goodness he's not my main prescriber. I walked out of his office at that point. The unprofessionalism is wild.

False diagnosis
Will falsely diagnose you after a 5 minute consultation. Will incorrectly chart your information. I do not remember this provider.

Becky
He is the best psychiatrist I have ever had. He gives me options and discusses medications with me. He has always replied to my calls within the next business day.

Not able to meet basic professional standards
Runs late, doesn't return emails/phone calls, scattered, rude, and just generally unprofessional w/patients and family members alike. Doesn't seem to grasp that he is in a helping/medical profession and voluntarily chose a profession where he must work with individuals at their most vulnerable. Would not recommend given that the Twin Cities has multiple mental health clinics and private practice options to choose from where the care is compassionate, thorough, and patient-centered.

Had a terrible reaction to the medication he prescribed me (Lexapro), and he also forgot to remind me about a followup appointment. Bad, bad, bad.
