My elderly mom was discharged home form Overlake ER after sustaining a spine fracture from a crime, robbery - that completely debilitated her. No back brace, no caregiver or transfer to facility, no home health setup, or not even crime victim resources. They basically said take pain medication & rest. The lack of compassion from all the staff is unforgettable and unfortunate.

I was pushed by Ross Klein to get an IV for my vertigo. I told him that I was not dehydrated but he would not hear me. Ross came back into the room to advise this three times. Then, he then told me that thought I had a bladder infection and prescribed medication, although it did not show up on a culture. The next day I went to my MD since it only got worse. She told me to stop taking the antibiotic. She did not think that I was dehydrated. After getting a few more test it was decided that I had a vertigo virus. I am really disappointed that Ross Klein was really focused on giving me that IV when it was not needed. It makes me wonder if he tries to do this as a general practice. All this does is make the visit much more expensive. Also, surprised he did not know to check for eye movement which tells you something about what may be going on. This visit was a negative experience and I did not have any confidence in his diagnosis.
