Unique Psychologist for 2 different issues.
We first saw Ryan in 2010 for premarital couples counseling. It took 3 visits and we were good… Then in 2021 we caught back up with him due to stepfamily issues. We are presently having sessions with him and each session gives me, my husband, and/or both of us increased confidence. His style may not be for everyone, but maybe that is because he truly sees things the way they truly are.

Our experience with Ryan Allison was not good and something all should be aware of. He saw my 14 yr. old son only twice. We reached out to him because my son was facing self esteem issues and didn't believe in himself. After my son wasn't "fixed" in only a month, I got a message from Ryan saying he would have to discontinue seeing him. I was shocked that he would assume a 14 yr old boy would fix bad habits and issues that have plagued him for YEARS in just two short visits. Then to say if he wasn't "fixed" he was essentially fired. Beware! His strong arm tactics might work on adults who are mature and KNOW they need the help, but will likely not work on a 14 yr old whose is going because he and his parents know he needs someone to talk to, but until that boy trusts Ryan he doesn't know he wants to be there. What a complete waste of energy, emotion and time.

His therapeutic style is different than any psychologist, social worker, or counselor I've worked with in the past– in the best way. I've struggled with identity issues my entire life, and sometimes I feel dissociated from who "I am," and act out. Prior to entering treatment with Dr. A, I was put on a revolving door of medications to "slow me down" as to prevent me from acting impulsively, to no avail. Only now am I finally learning how to slow myself down & maintain a cohesive sense of self.
