Sandra Darilek, CGC

I HIGHLY recommend Sandra Darilek as a genetic counselor. I am grateful and lucky to have had her as mine. She is competent, professional, an expert in her field of study, and is compassionate. I live in Austin, TX, and I was 10 weeks pregnant when I received a scary NIPT result (they told me that my baby-fetus might have a life threatening chromosomal disorder) from my OBGyn. I went to an MFM doctor in Austin to have it vetted further, and this practice did not have a genetic counselor. This MFM doctor essentially told me there is a 98% chance that my baby would not live. Long story short: I ended up searching for someone who could interpret and provide better guidance on my NIPT results, which is how I found Sandra in Houston. I wanted to know ALL my options and that is what Sandra provided. I want to thank Sandra and her team at Baylor College of Medicine and the doctors at Texas Children's Hospital Women's Pavillion in Houston for the first-in-class service that I received.
