Would NOT recommend. Our sessions were spent talking of the mundane. This is a defense mechanism of mine. I try to steer conversations in any direction besides myself and she just fell into it. I’d ask how she was doing and she would spend 15 minutes telling me. When she would focus on me as a patient she would tell me to leave my spouse instead of giving me tools and guidance in how to communicate, interact, and navigate my personal and marital issues. She even told me partake in abusive behaviors towards my spouse, such as giving my spouse the silent treatment when they upset me.
