Shuree Waggoner, LMHC

Shuree is a Godsend! She helped to get me through my divorce. Based on her own life experiences, she was easily able to relate to and empathize with mine. She is very direct or "matter-of-fact" (my preference), caring, and personable. She also never judges someone, but is patient and just provides her own perspectives. Her enthusiasm, genuine heart, and sense of humor, come through immediately in interactions with her, even in her current remote training via Zoom meetings and phone class. I highly recommend her services.

I brought my daughter to Ms. Waggoner for assistance in a couple of areas. We had been to other therapists, but my daughter did not bond with then. After three or four sessions my daughter and Ms. Waggoner developed a really good relationship, which is required to have productive sessions. The change in her life is so substantial we no longer fear what will happen if we leave her alone. Her school work has also dramatically risen. It's amazing what a great therapist can do for someone that is in need. I would not hesitate in recommending Ms. Waggoner for any issue a young woman might be having. She is very friendly and I got a very easy and comfortable feeling when we met. I did have one session with my daughter and came away feeling real good that way she managed that session. Both my daughter and I discussed on the way home how well the session went. I couldn't he happier with our choice and my daughter is actually excited to go to therapy now.

I don't understand the above review about "group session" as I don't think Shuree offers this. I will attest that she is a great listener and offered some very good guidance for improving my relationship with my 16-yr-old over last year - 2019. Everyone needs to find a therapist they are comfortable with and can connect. I found Shuree to be wonderful and supportive.

I have been seeing Shuree for a little over a year now, when i first came to see her I was in desperate need of someone I could be completely transparent with. My anxiety was controlling my life and my PTSD was starting to ruin every relationship i had, most importantly the one with myself. The hardest part of counseling is finding the right one for you, Instead of dreading an appointment to talk all about your problems I look forward to seeing her and catching up, she's made me feel comfortable enough in my own skin and able to except myself and issues as well as working me threw them. I can drive now without panic attacks, I can talk without disassociating, I sleep ALL night, I've walked away from toxic relationships. Having a counselor that not only matches your emotions, making you comfortable expressing them but also shows you tough love when you need to snap back into reality is seriously so refreshing and I absolutely believe I wouldn't be in the place I am if it wasn't fo

do not go to this therapist if you have a trauma history! I tried to explain to her (in a group session) why it is difficult for me to do more than I am currently doing in my life, in terms of working full time as well as attending college, because of my ptsd, cptsd, social anxiety, and depression symptoms (all professionally diagnosed by my primary therapist). but she cut me off before I could finish explaining, and completely invalidated me by saying "well working and going to school can be done at the same time, after all, *I* did it." I couldn't believe she said that! if a therapist thinks a client should be able to function exactly like them regardless of life history, and without even showing a desire to find out the life history, how can they help the client? I did not feel she showed empathy, and I've spent weeks working on undoing how terrible she made me feel, with my primary therapist. I'd definitely recommend finding another provider.
