I saw Stephanie for Degenerative Joint Disease & a herniated disc. After no improvement with great difficulty I shared about my history of childhood trauma wondering if this might be contributing to my symptoms of pain. To my shock & disbelief she told me she felt that all of my symptoms were due to anxiety and stress and could not justify continuing physical therapy on me, completely disregarding my physical diagnosis by MRI. I never dreamed in confiding in her about my childhood trauma that I would be treated with such harsh judgement and be totally dismissed be her as a psych patient when I had two clear diagnosis' by MRI after being reviewed by Spine specialist's. I found myself wondering if she ever bothered to look at my chart to see what my diagnosis was which was incredibly frightening. Quite frankly it leaves me frightened for anyone under her care.
