I had gone to her individually in the past and then she saw my child ordered by my ex who we were in custody battle. She knew of my ptsd and problems and was one sided when working g with my child. This should have been a conflict of interest. I feel she was biased as a professional whose job is to be unbiased. The outcome wasn’t good for child and I thought good for my session with her as I learned a lot about what kind of actions can result from ptsd and severe depression. However the conflict of interest she took on and results encouraged me to warn potential patients.

In 2014, after a year of peace from our abuser, we began court-ordered supervised visits with Stephanie Wilson, LMFT in San Luis Obispo, California. She did not care to understand the trauma that my children had been experiencing for years, even when it was explained to her by my daughters’ regular therapist. Ms. Wilson took it upon herself to override orders that had been established with the court although she had no authority to do so. It is a very challenging position for a survivor to face because an attempt to maintain a boundary (the court order) puts one at odds with a person who holds an incredible amount of power over the future of their case. I tried to explain to Ms. Wilson that my daughters were struggling yet she didn’t care. Her agenda to reunify my children with their abuser overrode what was in the best interest of my children. She treated me as if I were overreacting and she was painfully dismissive.
