I know I have PTSD, and I went here because I was interested in EMDR. I got there and found that his listings are old and he doesn't do EMDR now. I figured I was already there so what the heck. We talked, going through examples from the last week of the issues I laid out in the first visit. He took me through visualizations that were bizarre and not helpful. For my needs this therapist was a failure, and waste of time and money. The billing doucmentation was a mess and I gave up on getting reimbursed through my HSA. I have since learned with my new therapist, developmental trauma alters you neurologically, and talk therapies are completely or very minimally effective. EMDR has been very helpful in my case. Lesson: If you have done your homework, a degree does not mean the therapist knows more than you about effective treatments. Don't deal with something different than advertised if it is not what you need. Not all of them keep up with the field.
