This psychologist will blame "anxiety" for absolutely everything while ignoring your actual issue(s). I went in with established (non-anxiety-related) diagnoses from past doctors, which he never acknowledged or put forth effort to work with me on. He instead elected to shoehorn "anxiety" as a cure-all explanation for my every symptom and ill feeling. And even after such assertions, this so-called "anxiety" was not targeted for therapeutic measures! I never received a modicum of insight into my conditions, nor was I ever introduced to coping methods. Not even the easily-applicable forms of therapy (i.e., CBT, DBT). As far as I see it, his "therapy" is lackadaisical and anti-textbook. He examines you with the same fervor you could expect from a sloth in a coma. His obsession with Dr. Phil is also off-putting. Overall, one of the least helpful experiences I've had, but at least I can say he was not cruel or spiteful in his attitude (which, I find, is all too common among these Drs).

We had an 8 year old ADD son that was a big problem at home and school. He was very disrespectful and to get him to do anything was a big battle. We took him to one counselor but after 4 months no improvement was made. It seemed she just was playing games with our son. Our doctor suggested we see Dr. Kanter. He counseled us on how to deal his misbehavior as well as seeing our son. He gave us a few ideas that were easy to do and it made huge difference. After few sessions we had a much better be

My husband and I feel very lucky to have seen Dr. Kanter. We went to another therapist before for marriage counseling and after a number of meetings we felt no progress was made. A friend recommended that I see Dr. Kanter and we immediately saw a big difference in his style. He helped us decide on the goals we needed to work on, and helped us to listen and understand each other better. For anyone who has a marriage problem, or any problem, I highly recommend him.

I am very happy that I have seen Dr. Kanter. I found him very easy to talk to and a warm and caring person. He gave me some tools to help with my depression and a different way to look at my problems that I never considered before. I feel I am doing much better now than I did before my sessions with him. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

I have been dealing with phycologists all my life and this by far the worst one yet. Dr Kanter is very agressive in his tactics and very uneducated in his practice and procedures..He seems to focus more on his personal views then specific and professional methods. I would recommend that he keeps his personal thoughts and view to himself and stick to the regiment at hand
