Very satisfied
I had cataract surgery in 2020 at Eye and Lasik Center. That went well. Then one of their people examined me for a prescription for progressive lens. It wasn't right. Then they had another check me. Also not right. Then one of the partners said to see Dr. Vachula as he 'always gets it right'. I went to him. He did tests nobody else has ever done and I've had glasses for 65 years! And the prescription was right on! He was late- as others have noted. I joked about it with him and he said because they send him the difficult ones and it takes more time than it should. Now that he's in a different office, I just made an appointment with him. I may get back here later with an update.

Competent but Quite Unprofessional
First, my appointment with Dr. Vachula was at 11:00 a.m., but I didn't see him until 12:30, which is pretty incredible. Second, though his manner overall was friendly enough and I don't distrust his competence at his job, he was quite unprofessional in expressing a large resentment toward eye specialists in Boston. I see one for a severe eye problem and have gone there because I couldn't find proper treatment for it in the area (after a good deal of trying.) He expressed his resentment sarcastically at numerous times during the appointment, and even refused to make a recommendation for artificial tears because of it, until I asked him a second time! I do not believe eye professionals should be divisive amongst themselves, but more importantly, a patient's medical care elsewhere should be respected and not belittled.

  • Trusted the provider's decisions
