Dr. Susan Kiss, PSY.D

I would not recommend this therapist to my worst enemy. I’m very unsure if your best interest is at heart with this therapist. She constantly oversteps boundaries with you as the patient leaving you to feel less than. I often would think about why she wouldn’t give me anything to work on or help me to solve things. I would often think she didn’t know what she was doing and played a role of reverse psychology by responding only with exactly what you said and following the statement with “yeah” “yeah” almost like she was having a conversation with herself. Then would say “right” “right” again having a conversation with herself. Not totally sure if she herself is fit to be in the position of a therapist.

Dr. Kiss was very empathetic at times, and at others, bafflingly judgmental. I am very open to feedback; that's why I seek therapy. However I draw the line at a fluttering eyeroll when being told that I am ruining my daughter's childhood by encouraging her to expand her horizons. Dr. Kiss was also shockingly ignorant about a lot of things, like when she assured me that I needn't worry "so much" about my child's lack of academic progress in pre-K "since kids don't learn to read until first grade anyway." Um, no. Thank you, but no.

Dr. Suzi Kiss was recommended by a friend and has really helped me. I don’t think she will be the right fit for people who do not take feedback well. Her style is upfront and her personality is pretty strong. She is not perfect and no counselor is. I appreciate her solution-based therapy style. It has helped me move towards hollistic and emotional wellness. There is no receptionist, so you can leave a message and she’s very good at responding.
