Susan Shelton, LMHC

I have been going to Susan for about 3 years and she has helped me change my life and how I see life. My kids and a few friends have gotten the same results. I’ve had a few councilors and she has been the best thus far. Susan is such an advocate for women’s health and that’s exactly what I needed. I will be eternally grateful to her and the efforts to restore our family. She’s always prompt and always greets me with a smile. Susan is a very genuine person and I couldn’t ask for anyone better…she’s heaven sent

Susan is great. I’ve gotten more out a few visits with her than with months of sessions with my last therapist. She is genuine, caring, and attentive while being tough enough to push you past your blocks when you need it. She is easy to communicate with, and responds quickly to scheduling requests. I’ve sent her several referrals, and they are happy as well

I have been seeing Susan for about 6 years off and on. She is amazing! Seeing the comments about canceling is laughable. She has never canceled an appointment with me in 6 years! She has helped me through a physically abusive marriage, death of my husband, and addiction. I have referred her a lot of clients and they all love her as much as I do.

She was fantastic, informative, attentive. Work us in,fast.Kind, knowledgeable.

Positives: She validated my feelings, helped my understand myself more, and taught me coping techniques. Negatives: Canceled appointments a few times, such as at the last minute, when every moment of therapy is important. I’d have to wait a month for our next meeting. Later I learn from her workplace that she suddenly stopped working there. She was someone I depended on to get better, & she didn’t even take the time to give me a proper goodbye. Those actions are dangerous to patients’ health

I’d actually say she shouldn’t even be practicing in the mental health field. On my visit, she already had my medical notes pulled up and immediately began accusing me of being an alcoholic because I went out the night before on Halloween. I tried to stop her and explain it was 1 night and I wasn’t there for her to throw insults at me. I told her what my issues are because I live with them everyday and then she said she then got a really bad attitude and told me to get out!! She also cancels
