He is stuck in the past and has no knowledge of the world today. His outdated beliefs and views were actually more harmful to me as a patient. I left feeling much worse than when I came in. He argued many facts that weren't even relevant to why I'd go to therapy, facts I can't change, just because he believes things work differently. He spent too much time talking about his wife and adult children to prove a point that he is a "modern man" but I think if he feels the need to talk this much and needs this kind of validation, all while refusing to see that the world has changed in the past 40 years, that he needs therapy for himself rather than practicing as one. I suppose he helped in one way, as I suddenly stopped going due to how he made me feel, rather than seeking a new counselor, I realized I did not have the need for therapy.
