The level of unprofessionalism I've experienced as of late with Doctor King is beyond unacceptable. I had been seeing her for several years and had just become blind to a lot of the red flag behaviors. She does not have an accessible patient portal, doesn't have a website, doesn't have a publicly available email address, and the only way of contacting her is either to A) Call and hope a receptionist answers you (Which, if they do, will most likely claim to leave her a message that never gets followed up on- or if you're sent to voicemail, hope the voicemailbox isn't full. It's full almost every week, and the actual messages left on it aren't responded to, to my knowledge) or B) Call her personal cell and get ridiculed that you did so.
I have been on an SNRI that is one of the highest ranked for side effects and withdrawal symptoms. Dr. King claims to have attempted to reach me in *January* about an appointment I had with her, claims to have left not only a voicemail but also an email. I have 0 emails from her period, as well as a single voicemail from a number that is not usually the one she calls from. The only text messages I've ever received from her are automated appointment reminders that only give you the option to confirm or cancel. So not only was there minimal opportunity given to answer this appointment, but there was 0 attempts afterwards to reach me, as well as all of my attempts being ignored.
When I finally ran out of this medication, I became desperate and started calling nonstop. Still minimal response. Still "We'll leave her a message and see what she wants to do moving forwards." It went as far as having my partner, mother, and father attempt to reach her with no avail. All of them were told that I'd receive a call in the next few hours, next day, "Tomorrow for sure", still to no avail. Finally, my partner found that my withdrawal symptoms were severe enough to bring me to the ER. The ER staff were appalled that I would be cold turkey on such a medication at such a high dose. I wasn't able to keep food down, was shaking non stop, couldn't focus, couldn't keep my eyes open for more than a few seconds. My partner was worried I was going to have a seizure, which is one of the side effects of stopping this medication so early, and something I have a family history of.
This isn't new behavior either. Several times I've gotten calls later than the scheduled appointment, or had calls missed altogether. I've been insisted to 'journal my feelings' in the past, and when I expressed that I already do so, was met with what sounded like a dismissive 'Do it again' type of response. Bringing up side effects was a big no no, as it was usually met with mild apprehension or switching to a medication that makes 0 sense (I was switched from Trazodone to Clonazepam because I complained of next-day tiredness. Clonazepam not only has a longer half-life in the body, but is wildly more addictive, so it only exacerbated the exact problem I was complaining of.) This isn't behavior from a professional. Dr. King is forgetful at best, negligent at worst. I should have recognized these signs earlier and switched doctors before it became as dire as it did. Please, if you are not the perfect patient with 0 signs of actual mental illness, take your business elsewhere.

I filled out an email on Monday evening and she called me back within minutes using her cell phone. She said to message her on Tuesday morning to set up a consultation concerning my 2 grandsons. We talked on the phone for at least 30 minutes and she was so kind & considerate. So she is going to be treating my 2 grandsons. And so far She gave me the feeling right up front that she cared and was interested in what I had to say. My grandsons are bio- racial and do not get along with talking to a man. Based on our phone conversation I will indeed recommend her to friends & family

Dr. King is no doctor, she’s a drug dealer. Simple as that. If you’re considering seeing Dr. King, Be extremely cautious. My life was put at risk by her unsafe “pre$cribing method$”

Dr. King first encouraged me to talk more in our first session and the next, told me she didn’t have time to talk. My last and final visit entailed her accusing me of my mental issues claiming I wasn’t putting in the effort. Called my parents to prove it who explained I have physical disabilities. I’m 30. Dr. King fired me as a patient when I mentioned a medication she was prescribing was giving me side effects; She said just because it has some doesn’t mean I’ll get them. Pill pusher, jerk
