Tia Williams, LCSW

Tia wants a willing and compliant patient or she can’t work at all. The rigidity with which Tia imposes her CBT method is unprofessional. Her listening skills maybe some of the worst I have encountered. Tia’s unwillingness to adapt to clients is not reciprocal to what she expects the clients to do. Essentially she needs to get more practice if she intends to continue in this profession. The amount of effort she is willing to make that doesn’t involve reading from a script is abysmal. She makes extensive requests for information but doesn’t seem prepared with that information when the time comes. I was incredibly excited to work with her but she made every effort to convince herself that I was a patient that could not benefit from CBT. To that end she has done herself and her craft a disservice. She may have talent for some niche patient she seeks but if that’s the case Tia lacks a versatility that would be a common sense expectation for a counselor. I have never been involved with a therapist that was compelled to talk about their procedures so much in an initial session. Her method of revealing my goals for therapy were to ask me what they were and then stop me as I am speaking as she catches up with writing each item down. This is a communication field not painting by numbers. There was no willingness to have a conversation. I am left with the impression Tia is easily overwhelmed by information and ideas and posses no motivation to work in areas that don’t lend themselves to the greatest facility for her. There is evidently and general command of her own emotions.
