Dr. Tracey Hoffman, PSY.D

I was interviewed for a psych-evaluation for a couple of hours and received and returned a questionnaire. The provider's methods were sparse, and not the least bit holistic. From these methods alone, the provider was only able to offer a Slap-On diagnosis that could potentially cause more harm than good.

Dr. Hoffman uses straightforward, professional yet caring language to help me develop my own strategies to address my concerns. She often catches small things I say subconsciously, and how those small ‘clues’ trace back to my inner voice. Dr. Hoffman is not overly sweet or bubbly, but you will soon realize that she is very experienced, and works with her patients with such a calm, soothing yet upbeat demeanor -- she has all my admiration for this. I still don’t know how she makes this work!

Our couples therapist, she also encouraged me to start individual therapy. She's noticeably different than us, but as a trans person most people are and I don't want a friend out of my therapist. She has a way of listening/caring so when we do push ourselves, she can act as a support/guide. She does "poke" and catch body language, tone changes, anything that may need attention: while we have caught her making a deal outta something small, she also notices what others don't so we can tend to it.

Horrible experience on first call. Worst beside manner, rude and condescending over the telephone.
