I recently had a total knee replacement and in the 24 hours after surgery developed an inability to urinate on my own. I asked the overworked nurses at Skokie Hospital (who were, for the most part, great) to tell her I wanted to talk with her about that problem and also about adjusting my pain medication. She sent back a message: she was 'too swamped' to see me. She answered a couple specific questions about the pain meds but never came to see me--at all. Either then or even the next day before I was discharged mid-afternoon. I was sent home with a catheter which the nurses explained poorly and Ms. Coli not at all. She spent zero time talking to me about my discharge and I was handed a pile of papers instead. Not impressed with her caring for patients.
