I do not understand the positive views I have seen here and elsewhere. Perhaps Dr. Newman used to be an effective psychologist, but it seems like something happened recently. Hired him to help teen with anxiety and depression and to learn CBT techniques. He never asked for a history or to meet with parents first. Okay. Never responded to two emails giving him a history and asking if he needed a parent meeting, so I had to call to follow up. Okay. He seemed terse during this phone convo and indicated he thought all psych meds were bad. Okay. Then during his second appointment with my teen, Dr. Newman started talking about extremely controversial political and religious theories, pretty much "out there" conspiracy theory stuff. This was with a minor. Thank God my teen disclosed this to me and is not an impressionable person. I can only imagine what would have happened if they continued to meet via Zoom with my teen behind closed doors exposing him these wacky ideas.

I have a long history of going to therapy. Dr. Newman was the first experience I had where I did not have to spend the first couple session "getting to know" each other. He understood my issues and the full depth of them in the first 15 minutes of our first session. I have been going for over a year now and am doing tremendously better. He is open-minded, empathetic, extremely intuitive and is excellent at helping with childhood trauma. He has helped me find my inner power and confidence, and to successfully let go of past trauma more effectively than any other therapist I have worked with. Scheduling is flexible, and he is always on top of any changes in his availability. Very professional and a pleasurable/jovial demeanor.

Advertises that he is trained in therapies that he has no training in. He admitted as much during a session.
