Zachary Forbes, CASAC

Mr Forbes decides its appropriate to abruptly cancel my appointments and then not respond when trying to reschedule. Giant waste of time. Find someone who will respect you as a patient and actually want to help you.

While I never was treated by Mr. Forbes, he did 'treat' a family member. Unfortunately, Mr. Forbes was assigned to my family member as a counselor during my family members deep depression and serious mental illness. Mr. Forbes took it upon himself to deny my family member appropriate treatment and even attempted to talk my family member into signing a contract which would have seriously decreased the amount of counseling he would have received during his illness. Mr. Forbes continually implied that my family member was not as ill as previous doctors had said he was. We requested Mr. Forbes be taken off the case, and reported Mr. Forbes as well. Fortunately, my family member is doing much better than when he was under the care of Mr. Forbes.

I was a long time patient of Zach Forbes. Throughout my time working with him he was a great cheerleader, incredibly patient with my fear of speaking to a therapist at first, and was available for me outside of appointment times. As I began to open up, however, it seems he began to pull away. Eventually, after expressing my feelings of how he was treating me and feeling like he was pushing me away, he referenced my feelings of being pushed away and then canceled my next appointment and gave me a pretty lame sheet of community based resources. As someone with fears of abandonment and past trauma of therapists overbooking and abandoning me (that he knew about) it shocked me that he would end our relationship in this manner. He's a great guy, very human, but I think he gets in over his head sometimes.
