After completing his pulmonary and critical care fellowship at UCSD in 1979, he established a pulmonary and critical care practice in Escondido. This practice became Escondido Pulmonary Medical Group, providing pulmonary and critical care services to the Escondido and Poway communities. Dr. Otoshi is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Otoshi has held past positions as Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Palomar Medical Center, Chief-of-Staff at Palomar Medical Center, Board of Directors of Palomar Pomerado Health Systems and Associate Clinical Professor at UCSD. He currently serves as the Medical Director of the Subacute Unit at Villa Pomerado. Dr. Otoshi has received a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and has provided administrative services to the pulmonary practice and served as a Principle Investigator for several research studies over the last 35 years.
