Biography: Dr. Mindy Gentry is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. After graduating from Georgia Institute of Technology, she earned her medical degree in 2000 from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Dr. Gentry remained in Augusta to complete her residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship, where she was selected to serve as both chief medical resident and chief cardiology fellow.In 2007, she became an assistant professor of medicine and the medical director for both the Women's Cardiovascular Disease program and the Cardiac Rehabilitation program at the Medical College of Georgia. Her special interests include cardiac imaging, women and heart disease, and heart disease during pregnancy.Dr. Gentry joined Wellstar in October 2010 and is currently on staff at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. She is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography.Dr. Gentry is married and the proud parent of three daughters. Her hobbies include traveling, exercising and playing golf.

Care Philosophy: Grant Nelson, D.O., is a member of the team at Internal Medicine Associates, P.C. and serves as a hospitalist at EAMC. Dr. Nelson received his master of public health from The University of Alabama at Birmingham and his doctor of osteopathic medicine at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine.During his residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine, Dr. Nelson published more than 30 scholarly articles and received multiple awards, including the Edward Jelks Outstanding Resident Clinician Award, the Outstanding Internal Medicine Senior Resident Award and the University of Florida Society of Teaching Scholars Resident Teacher of the Year Award.During his time at Auburn University, where he received his undergraduate degree, Dr. Nelson often volunteered at EAMC and was inspired by the group of physicians he worked with, which ultimately led to his return. Dr. Nelson is married to Dr. Heidi VanderVelde, who is a pediatrician with Pediatric Associates of Auburn, and they have two dogs.

Care Philosophy: Greg Westwood, MD, PhD, is board-certified in family medicine and serves as the medical director for UF Health Family Medicine '?? Old Town. Dr. Westwood received his medical degree from SABA University and completed his family medicine residency at UF College of Medicine. Dr. Westwood chose to pursue family medicine because of the diversity of patients, pathologies, and career opportunities found only in this specialty. He also has his PhD in microbiology and cell science from UF. He worked as a post-doctoral research fellow at Duke University Medical Center, department of pathology. He has several publications from this experience and his most recent one on the role of mast cells in inflammatory bowel disease and inflammation-associated Colorectal neoplasia.
