Biography: My passion is working with individuals who have suffered from the consequences of making high-risk decisions. These decisions have resulted in legal, medical, and interpersonal dilemmas. I use a focused, solution-oriented approach designed to explore the context within which these decisions and associated patterns of behavior have become impractical and repetitive. We will explore alternative problem-solving approaches that incorporate mindfulness, paradox, metaphor, and contingency management. My background involves working with individuals/couples/families in crisis. I have extensive experience working with alcohol and drug abuse, and individuals with co-occurring mental health and psychiatric issues. Biography: Relationships matter. Relationships with other people and relationships with ourselves are equally significant. For years I have been passionate about working with kids, adolescents, and adults in exploring life and how they fit. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist in North Carolina with 13 years of professional work experience; 11 years of providing individual and group therapy. Facing life and all it has to offer can be overwhelming, scary, and sometimes seem unbearable. I do not shy away from difficult topics or the elephant in the room (such as race, white privilege, LGBTQIA, male toxicity, gender issues, politics, trauma, substance use, bullying, suicide, etc.). It is my goal to create space for us to explore any and all topics you need to address, improve on, and/or process. You do not have to do this alone, and you lead the way.
