I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Board Approved Supervisor in the state of Maryland. I currently have 5 years of experience working in the wonderful world of mental health. I have a wide range of experience and have worked with individuals in a traditional outpatient setting, as a crisis counselor, and with individuals in a crisis residential setting. I have worked with individuals who have depression, anxiety, relationship issues, difficulty coping with life stressors, and bipolar disorders. I believe in the motto, "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone" and I understand that therapy can be uncomfortable at times. My approach in the therapeutic process is warm and inviting. I believe that everyone should be treated with respect and compassion and I stay away stigmatizing labels. My counseling style is a mixture of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and client focused therapy. Biography: I have been a Social Worker since 1975 and have spent over 40 years years in a variety of treatment settings. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1983. I have worked in hospitals, outpatient treatment facilities, psychiatric facilities, substance abuse treatment units, special education schools and have provided home visits for geriatric patients. I am knowledgeable about children and families and have had specialized marriage and family therapy training and understanding family dynamics. My ability as a therapist to listen, empathize, build a trusting relationship, and work toward treatment goals has made me a successful Social Worker. I am very knowledgeable about community resources and work with patients toward their identified goals in a problem-solving modality.
