Biography: Ahmad Fashandi, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with Chippenham Orthopedics, affiliated with Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Fashandi earned his medical degree at University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency and an orthopedic surgery trauma fellowship at University of Virginia. In addition, he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Virginia.Dr. Fashandi is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has specialized training in orthopedic surgeries for traumatic injuries and joint replacements. He provides comprehensive management of fractures of acute and chronic injuries for adults and children including pelvic and acetabular fractures as well as pathology involving soft tissue and infection. In addition, he provides general orthopedic care. When not caring for patients, Dr. Fashandi enjoys cooking, wood working, exercise, and spending time with his two young daughters.

When not caring forpatients, Dr. Winkler enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling, and exploring newplaces to eat and drink with his wife.

Biography: Nearly 600,000 people undergo knee replacement surgery every year. But new technology has the replacement joint lasting longer than it used to. Dr. William Nordt is an orthopedic surgeon at the Parham Doctors Medical Complex. He tells us surgery should still be a last resort.We put people in programs where we try to understand how they carry the forces through their knee joint and why that knee joint is deteriorating in a specific area. And then through neuromuscular training, or physical therapy we try to reduce the forces on that joint.

Biography: Dr. Andrew Bogle specializes in hand, wrist, and elbow surgery, including nerve, tendon and fracture surgery as well as arthritis surgery including joint replacement. Dr. Bogle was raised in Richmond and attended the University of Richmond, and he is now co-team physician for the University of Richmond Spiders. When not working, Dr. Bogle enjoys spending time with his family, music, cooking, and CrossFit.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Miller was inspired to become a doctor after observing how much satisfaction his father obtained from a career in medicine. He was drawn to the field of colon and rectal surgery because of the variety of patients and problems that he sees on a daily basis and because the majority of the patients present in distress and invariably obtain some relief after undergoing treatment. He is very excited about the technological advances that have occurred in the field in the last 20 years and has continued to offer state of the art care.
