Biography: I developed an interest in surgical procedures in medical school, but I wanted longer-term relationships with my patients than most surgeons typically have. My work in a women's shelter during my medical school years led me to want to help women specifically. Obstetrics and gynecology allowed me to care for patients throughout each season of their lives - and to provide surgical and procedural care when needed. \n For me, it's the best of two worlds. I treat my patients holistically and consider all aspects of their health - physical, mental, emotional - in order to optimize their gynecological and obstetrical health. \n My patients appreciate that I stay current on advancements in my field. For instance, I've been trained on - and regularly use - the da Vinci robot for minimally invasive procedures. I've been performing robot-assisted surgery since 2012. Being a member of both the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as well as the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists helps me stay up to date on the latest advancements in obstetrics and gynecology. \n I've been fortunate to be involved in leading-edge clinical trials. When I practiced in Tennessee, I participated in clinical trials involving oral GnRH receptor agonists in the treatment of endometriosis and fibroids. These treatments have allowed us to provide more options for these patients with less side effects and to potentially avoid surgery. \n My husband, Jacob, and I have known each other since childhood. Our son keeps us busy with travel soccer. When not at the soccer field, we enjoy traveling and fishing as a family. I enjoy reading, water-related activities and marine biology - an interest that's increased since relocating to the South Carolina coast in 2020.

Biography: The pediatrician who cared for me throughout my childhood was the most amazing physician. He always made me feel comfortable and welcome. I wanted to be that person for my own patients. \n I view each patient as a whole person and believe that a combination of holistic and traditional medicine is often the best way to approach medical care. I've always maintained that the best way to care for people is to take the time to understand them. Listening is a crucial skill for anyone in healthcare. \n My goal is always to treat every patient just as I'd want to be treated. \n My husband, Dave, and I moved to the Lowcountry - our forever home - in 2017 with our three children. We love absolutely everything about coastal living - boating, sailing and every other water sport. Our children play softball, volleyball, soccer and - thanks to our proximity to the water - sailing. \n While I love all sports, softball has a special place in my heart. I have played - and coached - softball for many years and am honored to be in the Athletic Hall of Fame at my alma mater.

Biography: I was always interested in science and medicine, but my passion for women's health really grew in medical school. Supporting a woman through childbirth will always be an amazing experience for everyone involved. \n As an OB-GYN hospitalist, I am fully dedicated to caring for patients in the hospital setting. That's where I spend 100% of my workday (and nights), which means I'm always available to provide safe, high-quality care to expectant moms. I help pregnant women through emergency care, labor and delivery and postpartum recovery. When needed, I also perform emergency gynecological surgery. \n I'm proud to be a member of the OB Safety Committee at Novant Health Hilton Head Medical Center. Our team is on a mission to reduce preventable maternal mortality. I'm also proud that during my residency, I was recognized by American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists for "Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery." \n I was born and raised on Hilton Head Island. (Yes, the vacation paradise does have full-time residents.) In my spare time, I love running - or just being - on the beach and traveling with family.
