He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and specializes in knee ligament (ACL) reconstructions, shoulder instability, rotator cuff repairs, and hip arthroscopy. As Director of the Hip Arthroscopy program at Rothman Institute, Dr. Salvo serves as one of the region’s leaders in hip arthroscopy, particularly in athletes. Biography: As a former intercollegiate soccer athlete, Dr. Lisa Kaplin has enthusiasm for all things sports- and fitness-related.This passion carries into her practice as a physician and surgeon, where she helps patients get back to competitive sports, recreation and fitness.Having enjoyed biology and other sciences while an undergrad at Brandeis University, Dr. Kaplin was particularly drawn to the field of medicine by a fascination with the ability of her fellow athletes to both avoid and overcome injury.Afterward, she went on to earn a masters in medical science from Boston University followed by a D.O. from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. During the course of her early career Dr. Kaplin covered teams in hockey, rugby, basketball and football. In 2019, she completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at Wake Forest University College of Medicine.Dr. Kaplin will tell you that the patient is the priority all the time.
