Biography: Douglas D. Sankar, MD is Board Certified in Neurology with added qualifications in Clinical Neurophysiology, recognized by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Through an accelerated program offered at Boston University, MA, Dr. Sankar received his Medical Degree, which was followed by his Medical Internship and Neurology Residency at New York University. Dr. Sankar also completed his Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology, at NYU.Dr. Sankar brings 20 years of experience and expertise to his patients, as NYP Medical Group/Hudson Valley's Clinical Director of Neurology Department. He has special interests in neuromuscular disorders, as well as general neurology, including headache, epilepsy and stroke.

Biography: Yael Rappeport, MD is a Board Certified Neurologist. Dr. Rappeport obtained her Medical Degree from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. While in Denmark, she completed a medicine internship and initiated her neurology training, as well as authored several scientific publications. In addition, Dr. Rappeport also completed a medicine internship at Beth Israel Medical Center, NY and a Neurology Residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Prior to joining NYP Medical Group/Hudson Valley, she practiced in a private practice in Astoria, Queens. A member of the American Academy of Neurology, and interests including all aspects of adult neurology, Dr. Rappeport strives to stay up to date and current on new techniques and findings, for her patients.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Scott specializes in the management of musculoskeletal injuries in pediatric and adult dancers and athletes. His approach to care is collaborative and personalized, guided by patients' personal goals for recovery. He believes in the rehabilitative process as a catalyst for personal growth, enhanced body knowledge, and movement awareness in movers of all levels. He uses diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound as an extension of the physical examination and employs a variety of ultrasound-guided interventions, including regenerative treatments such as shockwave therapy, prolotherapy, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections.
