Biography: Dr. Shoaf is a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist specializing in Mood Disorders, Attention Deficit Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Sleep Disorders and Forensics (legal, custody, and court-related matters). In his practice, Dr. Shoaf emphasizes the importance of whole health in a goal-oriented approach. Dr. Shoaf has extensive experience in psychopharmacology, has been the Principal Investigator of more than thirty clinical trials while serving on faculty and teaching at the University of Chicago and University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He also served as Senior Medical Director of Clinical Research and Development in a global biopharmaceutical company. He oversaw the development of medications now approved by the FDA and European regulatory agencies for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, epilepsy, and narcolepsy. Dr. Shoaf received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, and his graduate degree from Northwestern University.
