After earning his MD at the Medical College of Georgia in 1976, Dr. Austin continued his education at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he completed his Internal Medicine internship, residency and fellowship, finishing in 1981. He has practiced in Infectious Diseases for over 30 years and in 2009 was appointed Director of Infusion Services at Walton Rehabilitation Health System in Augusta, GA.
