Biography: Dr. Homan completed his fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at NewYork-Presbyterian/Cornell, where he served as Chief Cardiology Fellow and undertook an additional year of laboratory training in cardiometabolic biology with Dr. James Lo. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia, before which he received his M.D. degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Prior to medical school he earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Harvard University and received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from the University of Florida in Gainesville.Dr. Homan's research has focused on understanding the relationship between obesity and cardiovascular disease. During his cardiology fellowship at Weill Cornell, he studied the role of the innate immune system in obesity-related liver disease and heart failure, and he received the Glorney-Raisbeck Fellowship Award in Cardiovascular Disease. In his PhD research at Harvard University, he discovered a new class of endogenous lipid molecules that he named fatty acyl hydroxy fatty acids (FAHFAs), which were ultimately found to have anti-diabetic and anti-inflammatory properties.Dr. Homan is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology and a member of the National Lipid Association, and member of the American Society of Echocardiography. Biography: Dr. Feldman is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology of the Department of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and an Attending Physician at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center.Dr. Feldman grew up in Framingham, Massachusetts and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, completed Internal Medicine residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School, where she completed the Clinician Educator Track, fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Boston Medical Center/Boston University School of Medicine, and an additional fellowship in Cardio-Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. After training, she founded and directed the Cardio-Oncology and Cardiac Amyloidosis programs at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School/University Hospital. In 2023, she joined the Cardiology Division at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical College as a full-time faculty member where she provides expertise in cardio-oncology, cardiac imaging, and medical education. She serves as the Director of the Cardio-Oncology program.Dr. Feldman is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Cardio-Oncology. She is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and a member of the American Heart Association, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and the International Society of Cardio-Oncology.

Biography: Dr. Laighold was born and raised in New York City and attended high school near Weill Cornell. Dr. Laighold graduated with honors from the University of Michigan, and then attended Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 2006 and his fellowship in cardiology at North Shore University Hospital/LIJ Medical Center in 2009.Dr. Laighold joined the faculty in 2024 from Northwell Health where he had worked since 2009. He previously was the Director of Clinical Cardiology at Southside Hospital and the Director of Noninvasive Structural Heart Program at North Shore University Hospital.

Biography: Dr. McDonald graduated from New York University with a bachelor's degree in biology. He received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. Dr. McDonald remained at NYU after graduating from medical school to complete his internal medicine residency training there. He then completed fellowships in cardiovascular disease and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Biography: Dr. Daniel Lu graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He then completed his medical training as well as a Masters of Health Sciences at Yale School of Medicine, followed by internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He then completed his subspecialty training in Cardiology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medical Center, and underwent further subspecialty training in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology at both NYP-Cornell and NYP-Columbia. Dr. Lu has co-authored numerous research papers in medicine and cardiology and maintains an active research interest investigating outcomes of treatment for heart failure and cardiogenic shock.

Biography: Jeffrey W. Moses, MD, is a renowned interventional cardiologist and Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Moses serves as the Director of Interventional Cardiovascular Therapeutics at Columbia Interventional Cardiovascular Care and the Director of Advanced Cardiac Interventions at St Francis Hospital and Heart Center in Roslyn, NY.With a track record of over 18,000 interventional procedures, Dr. Moses is an accomplished researcher. He has served as a lead investigator for numerous national and international clinical studies and authored over 600 publications, many focusing on the effectiveness and safety of coronary stent placement. Dr. Vahl is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He specializes in the percutaneous treatment of coronary artery and structural heart disease and cardiac catheterization. His primary focus is on transcatheter aortic valve replacements, transcatheter mitral valve repair and replacement, and left atrial appendage closure. Dr. Vahl is also very involved in many preclinical and first-in-human studies through his association with the Cardiovascular Research Foundation. For example, Dr. Vahl led the ALIGN-AR trial as a national PI, a position that evolved out of his experience with the device from the preclinical studies. Dr. Vahl frequently proctors other interventional cardiologists on TAVR in aortic regurgitation with the Trilogy valve and on TMVR with the Cephea valve. Within the left atrial appendage closure, Dr. Vahl has been very active in developing our intracardiac echo program which allows patients to get this procedure without the need for general anesthesia and TEE. Dr. Vahl attended medical school at the Philipps-Universitt in Marburg, Germany. He did his internal medicine residency and his cardiovascular disease fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He also completed a fellowship in both interventional cardiology and structural interventional cardiology, focusing on valvular heart disease, at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
