Biography: Dr. Duane Cespedes is currently the Director of Comprehensive Continence and Pelvic Health Center in Easton, Maryland. He served previously as the co-director for the Center for Pelvic Health at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and is the former Chairman and Program Director of the Urology Department at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio where he trained residents in urogynecology for 15 years. He retired from the Air Force after 24 years of service at the rank of Colonel. He received his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Washington, D.C., and performed a Urology residency in San Antonio. He subsequently performed a fellowship in Urogynecology / Female Urology with Dr. Edward McGuire in Houston, Texas. Since that time, he has been active both clinically and academically in the area of female urology, incontinence and pelvic reconstruction having published over 100 chapters and papers. He is also active in research and is the former chairman of the Institutional Research Board at Wilford Hall Medical Center. Dr. Cespedes has received many awards including the Paul Zimskind award of excellence in Female Urology and Urodynamics in 2004. He currently serves as a consulting editor for UROLOGY. His current areas of interest include urodynamics, the treatment of pelvic prolapse, and male and female incontinence.

Biography: Javier H Cajina, MD, FACOG, an OB/GYN with University of Maryland Shore Medical Group-Women's Health, has a passion for caring for women in all phases of their lives. His interests include the management of high risk pregnancies, including chronic hypertension and diabetes, among other conditions. He has experience in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery with DaVinci robotic and laparoscopic approaches for the treatment of fibroids, ovarian pathology and chronic pelvic pain. He is fluent in written and spoken forms of Spanish. Dr. Cajina graduated at the top of his class from the Universidad Americana in Nicaragua. During his time in Nicaragua, he developed a passion for working with families with limited resources and ran multiple mission trips to help low income families receive medications and adequate medical care. He also ran his own family health clinic while there. He plans on continuing to work with underserved families. Dr. Cajina completed his obstetrics/gynecology residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore with multiple rotations at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. He has a passion for education and research and was integral in developing algorithms at Sinai Hospital for the diagnosis and management of pre-term labor. His work was presented at the 2019 CREOG & APGO Annual Meeting and Maryland ACOG 2019 Nagey Resident Research Day. During his residency, he was awarded the Resident Achievement Award for Outstanding Minimally Invasive Surgery resident and received a Recognition of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology. Dr. Cajina is an active member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons and the Nicaraguan-American Medical Association. He is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Cervical Length Education and Review (CLEAR).
