Biography: Dr. Skeens attended medical school at Des Moines University in his home town in Iowa, and completed his residency at the nearby Mercy Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. He practiced primary care medicine with UnityPoint Clinics in Cedar Falls, Iowa, for nearly ten years, also serving as faculty for three years within the family medicine residency program, teaching and mentoring new physicians, both in clinic and hospital settings. A fun fact: Dr. Skeens graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and worked as a freelance illustrator for several years before entering medical school. Outside of medicine, he is generally found outdoors exploring new places with wife and dog, adventure cycling, running, or taking photographs. Dr. Skeens is thrilled to join Weill Cornell Medicine Primary Care and establish new roots in New York City.

Biography: Dr. Asad Mohammad, MD is an Internist who practices in New York, NY. He is 41 years old and has been practicing for 16 years. Dr. Asad Mohammad, MD is affiliated with Mount Sinai Morningside.

Biography: Dr. Abraham Krikhely is the Chief of the Division of Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatric Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Krikhely is an experienced minimally invasive surgeon specializing in robotic, laparoscopic and endoscopic approaches to metabolic and weight loss surgery, foregut surgery and general surgery. Dr. Krikhely obtained his undergraduate degree from NYU Stern School of Business and his medical degree from NYU School of Medicine. He stayed at NYU for his residency training in General Surgery, after which he completed his fellowship training in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center. After building a successful practice focusing on bariatric and minimally invasive abdominal surgery as part of the full-time faculty at Maimonides Medical Center, he was recruited to join the faculty at Columbia University in 2015. He was an early proponent of robotic bariatric surgery and has also chaired the robotic surgery committee at Columbia since 2017, where he has contributed to building and growing the robotic surgery program at Columbia. He is also the program director for the Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatric Surgery at Columbia University. Dr. Krikhely has authored multiple textbook chapters on bariatric surgery, robotic surgery, and foregut surgery, given numerous lectures and proctored many surgeons on the use of robotic surgery.

Biography: Bo Shen, MD, is one of the world's pre-eminent leaders in interventional inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and pouch-related disorders due to his specialized expertise and experience treating a wide range of these conditions. Dr. Shen is the director of the IBD Center at Columbia and co-director of Columbia's Global Center for Integrated Colorectal Surgery and IBD Interventional Endoscopy. He is also the Vice Chair for Innovation in Medicine and Surgery and a Professor of Medicine (in Surgery) and Edelman-Jarislowsky Professor in Surgical Sciences. In addition to pouchitis and pouch diseases, Dr. Shen specializes in critical diagnostic evaluation, and medical and endoscopic management of IBD, GI endoscopy and imaging technology. Dr. Shen is known as a pioneer in interventional endoscopic therapy for IBD and ileal pouch disorders - this includes postponing or eliminating the need for surgery in some cases. Dr. Shen comes to Columbia/NewYork-Presbyterian from the Cleveland Clinic, where he served as medical director for the Center of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and the Ed and Joey Story Endowed Chair, Digestive Disease and Surgery Institute. While there, Dr. Shen established a subspecialty Pouchitis Clinic and Interventional IBD Unite - the first and largest of its kind in the United States. He also created an IBD Board, modeled after oncology tumor boards, to help manage the most challenging cases with multiple specialists. A prolific researcher in the field with more than 600 peer-reviewed articles, Dr. Shen is funded by a number of government and philanthropic organizations, including the NIH, the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, the Broad Foundation, and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. Biography: Dr. Saluja graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wesleyan University in Connecticut in 1996 where he was the recipient of the Hawk Prize for Excellence in Molecular Biology. He received his MD degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha. He went on do to his Internal Medicine training at Columbia, serving as Chief Resident before completing additional training in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology. He served as the Director of the Electrophysiology Laboratory at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital from 2012 until 2018 before returning to Columbia. Dr Saluja continues to be active in teaching, research, and clinical practice. He has was named Teacher of the Year four times, has been named a Top Doctor by Castle-Connolly and New Jersey Monthly, and has numerous research publications and presentations at national meetings. Dr Saluja is a full-time faculty member at Columbia and sees patients at the Herbert Irving Pavilion at the Washington Heights campus.
