Biography: Dr. Michael Loshigian is a podiatrist and a board certified foot surgeon. He is a Clinical Instructor at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC, as well as NY Hospital Queens where he is in part responsible for the instruction of podiatry residents. He is also on staff at NYU Langone Medical Center and the Fifth Avenue Surgery Center. Dr. Loshigian's areas of expertise include: Medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle including congenital and acquired structural deformities, trauma, and infections. Sports Medicine. Arthroscopic surgery of the foot and ankle. Treatment of torn ligaments and tendons. Surgical and non-surgical management of fractures of the foot. Doctor Michael Loshigian earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, with honors, from the State University of New York. He completed the Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine program Magna Cum Laude from the Wm. M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. Returning to New York, he completed his Podiatric Surgical Residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center and NYHQ, both academic affiliates of the Weil Medical College of Cornell University. He then entered private practice in 1995. In 1997 Dr. Loshigian founded The Metropolitan Foot Group, a private practice limited to Podiatry & Reconstructive Foot Surgery, and in 2005 also joined the Murray Hill Medical Group as their Chief Podiatrist. Being a meticulous and innovative surgeon, Dr. Loshigian offers his patients the latest in surgical techniques.
