Care Philosophy: Dr. Novak provides primary care to patients of all ages, in addition to inpatient medicine and urgent care. He feels strongly that healthcare is at its best when the clinician and patient work as a team to improve the patients health. His clinical interests include chronic disease management, gender care, addiction medicine, and procedures (such as joint injections, skin biopsies, and placement of long-acting reversible contraception).

Care Philosophy: Dr. Thyagarajan is a board-certified family medicine physician. She believes in open and honest communication with individuals. She strives to provide education and guidance to help individuals take charge of their own health.

Biography: I'm an internal medicine-pediatrics doctor practicing in primary care, which means I see people of all ages in the office for preventive care and treatment of common medical conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure. I enjoy establishing long-term relationships with my patients. My goal for each visit is to present my patients with multiple treatment options and help them make decisions tailored to their individual needs.

Biography: I chose internal medicine because I enjoy the continuity of care and long-term relationships with my patients. Helping patients manage chronic conditions and coordinating care over time is something that I have found rewarding. Preventive care and counseling patients on staying healthy are also areas that interest me. I strive to be a good listener and aim to be a straightforward communicator, avoiding medical jargon and using language that is understandable for patients and their families. With so much of disease being preventable and easily managed by patients, I work to empower patients to take control of their health. As the Department Chair for Internal Medicine and one of the Regional Assistant Medical Directors for HealthPartners, my clinical time is limited. In my role as a medical director, it is rewarding to help develop systems that improve the health of all of our patients and ensure that they receive the best care at the right time. Maintaining my clinical practice is also something that I am very committed to, as it is what attracted me to the field of internal medicine in the first place. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, staying active, knitting, baking cookies, watching Twins baseball and traveling.
