Biography: Dr. Vandana Sood is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Rehabilitation Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. She is dual board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine.Dr. Sood received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and earned a medical degree from New York Medical College. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and went on to complete fellowship training in Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. She has experience caring for both recreational and professional athletes, and has been a team physician for high school, collegiate and professional sports teams. She has a particular interest in running related injuries and injuries affecting female athletes.Dr. Sood's clinical practice focuses on the non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, spine disorders and acute sports injuries. Her goal is to work with patients to restore function, reduce pain, and prevent future injury. Biography: Elan L. Goldwaser, DO, is a sports medicine physician specializing in the non-operative management of complex musculoskeletal conditions affecting athletic participation, including chronic and acute injuries affecting the bones, joints, and muscles of pediatric and adult patients. Dr. Goldwaser's training as an osteopathic physician provides additional treatment approaches to promote healing through a variety of options and tailored patient care. As an experienced team physician to high school, collegiate, and professional athletes, Dr. Goldwaser is accustomed to treating injuries sustained in the acute setting of sporting events including: management of concussions, tendon injuries, and leg somatic dysfunctions (including Achilles/Patellar tendonitis). As a former cross-country, track and field, and swimming collegiate athlete, Dr. Goldwaser understands the athlete's need to return to sport and is dedicated to helping people of all levels achieve this. He attended The College of New Jersey where he completed his Bachelor's in Biology, and later went on to Rowan-SOM for medical school and residency. Before coming to Columbia Orthopedics, Dr. Goldwaser completed a sports medicine fellowship at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, PA, honing skills in ultrasound diagnostics and minimally invasive sports medicine interventional procedures. Dr. Goldwaser's research spans multiple specialties which include: concussion management, prevention and recovery, biologic injections in injury recovery, and exploring healing rates after ultrasound-guided procedural interventions. When time allows, he enjoys running marathons, traveling, and playing Scrabble with his family.

Biography: Robert A. Christian, MD, MBA, is an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon specializing in the operative and non-operative treatment of athletes of all ages and skill levels, including pediatric and adult patients. He is an expert in arthroscopic and open surgery of the hip and knee. Dr. Christian is interested in arthroscopic hip preservation, focusing on femoroacetabular impingement, labral tears, proximal hamstring injuries, and complex knee pathologies, focusing on cartilage restoration, meniscus injuries, and ligament reconstruction. He also serves as Head team Physician at Iona University. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dr. Christian received a B.A. in Economics from Georgetown University and graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2015. He completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Northwestern University, where he served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Brian J. Hartigan, MD, Memorial Award. While in residency, Dr. Christian graduated from the University of Chicago with a Master's in Business Administration from the Booth School of Business. Following residency, Dr. Christian completed fellowships in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Hip Preservation at Duke University in Durham, NC. While there, he served as a team physician for Duke University basketball, football, and baseball teams. Throughout his training, Dr. Christian has been active in academic research, having published over 20 peer-reviewed articles on various topics related to hip arthroscopy, femoroacetabular impingement, quality improvement, value-based healthcare, and surgical techniques. His ongoing research projects focus on optimizing patient outcomes with a particular interest in complex hip and knee pathology. Dr. Christian also has a significant interest in resident and fellow education and mentorship. He is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), and the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA). Outside of his practice, Dr. Christian enjoys golfing, snowboarding, and personal fitness.

Biography: Dr. Robert J. Strauch is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of hand, wrist, and elbow problems in adults and children. He has a special interest in nerve problems of the upper extremity, including carpal tunnel syndrome, and in treating congenital hand disorders. The specialty of hand surgery melds together elements and principles of orthopedic, plastic, neurological and vascular surgery to restore and maximize hand and upper extremity function, whether wielding a jackhammer, throwing a baseball, or playing the violin. Dr. Strauch has authored and co-authored numerous articles in the field of hand surgery and is actively engaged in basic and clinical research. He served as President of the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand in 2006-2007. Dr. Strauch has been included in the list of New York Magazine's and "Best Doctors in New York" in addition to being regularly listed in America's Top Doctors.
