Biography: Dr. William Prabhu is an interventional cardiologist at Columbia. He graduated from SUNY Upstate medical school at Syracuse in 2009. He completed residency and a chief residency at UVM medical center from 2009-2012. He then completed general cardiology, interventional cardiology, structural heart and peripheral vascular fellowships at Brown University from 2013-2018. From 2018-2021 he practiced primarily in Rockland county performing the highest volume of cardiac catheterizations, PCIs, and TAVRs in the county during his time there. In 2022, he joined the faculty at Columbia's Interventional Cardiovascular Care program. Along with his busy clinical responsibilities, Dr. Prabhu participates in multiple randomized controlled trials as part of his academic work with CUIMC.Dr. Prabhu performs cardiac catheterizations, peripheral vascular, and structural heart procedures at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Vahl, MD, is the Director of Translational Research and is an attending physician at the Columbia Structural Heart and Valve Center and Columbia Interventional Cardiovascular Care at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Vahl is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Vahl is board-certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, and internal medicine. He specializes in the percutaneous treatment of coronary artery and structural heart disease and cardiac catheterization. His primary focus is on transcatheter aortic valve replacements, transcatheter mitral valve repair and replacement, and left atrial appendage closure. Dr. Vahl is also very involved in many preclinical and first-in-human studies through his association with the Cardiovascular Research Foundation. For example, Dr. Vahl led the ALIGN-AR trial as a national PI, a position that evolved out of his experience with the device from the preclinical studies. Dr. Vahl frequently proctors other interventional cardiologists on TAVR in aortic regurgitation with the Trilogy valve and on TMVR with the Cephea valve. Within the left atrial appendage closure, Dr. Vahl has been very active in developing our intracardiac echo program which allows patients to get this procedure without the need for general anesthesia and TEE. Dr. Vahl attended medical school at the Philipps-Universitt in Marburg, Germany. He did his internal medicine residency and his cardiovascular disease fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He also completed a fellowship in both interventional cardiology and structural interventional cardiology, focusing on valvular heart disease, at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Biography: Dr. Emile Bacha is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon with a subspecialization in pediatric cardiac surgery. From 2000-2004, he was the Surgical Director of the Congenital Heart Center at the University of Chicago. From 2004-2009, he was Senior Associate in Cardiac Surgery at the Children's Hospital Boston and Associate Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School, as well as Cardiac Surgery Fellowship Program Director, and Director of the Pediatric Heart Valve Center. Since January 2010, Dr. Bacha has been Director of the Congenital and Pediatric Cardiac Surgery program at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital, Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons, and Weill Cornell Medical School. In July 2011, he was appointed Chief of the Division of Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
