Care Philosophy: Dr. Heywood has also been through two complicated pregnancies herself (including twins!) and is empathetic to your worries and concerns. Her interests include reading, music, writing, and spending time with her family and pets. She spent three years working for a music magazine and interviewed such artists as Chicago, Def Leppard, Yes, and Steve Vai. She also spent a month in Italy singing in an opera program.

Biography: I am a board-certified maternal-fetal medicine specialist, a physician who cares for women with complicated pregnancies. I work with a care team to optimize the health and well-being of mothers and babies with high-risk medical conditions. I follow my patients closely throughout their pregnancy. I also see patients who may have had a previous high-risk pregnancy or who have a suspected issue in their current pregnancy, but who after a single consultation visit are normal and resume routine care with their OB-GYN. My goal is to provide compassionate, patient-oriented and evidence-based care. I want patients to feel educated and empowered to make decisions that are right for them and their families.
