This firsthand experience with the patient and family journey, while difficult, allowed me to develop a deeper, more empathetic understanding, which I still carry today in my clinical work. \n Each patient has unique life experiences and situations that must always be taken into account when developing care plans. That is why I volunteer as a member of the Charlotte Transgender Health Care Group, a group of healthcare providers who discuss best practices, provide continuing education and discuss complex cases involving transgender healthcare. I am also a member of the Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology. This allows me to stay up to date with the latest guidelines and provide my patients with research-based treatments. \n I grew up in Las Vegas but have lived in the Southeast since my undergraduate training and consider Charlotte my second home. In my spare time, I enjoy taking walks, playing strategy board games, watching independent movies, taking road trips and spending time with my husband and daughter.
