Biography: Dr. Salerno is a board qualified American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery/American Board of Podiatric Surgery in Foot Surgery and Rear foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery. He received his podiatric medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York, NY.After graduation he attended one of the most prestigious limb preservation and reconstructive programs in the country based out of Washington, DC. At Medstar Washington/Georgetown evidence based medicine and a multidisciplinary approach is utilized in limb salvage, wound care and Charcot reconstruction. In addition to the fundamentals of podiatric surgery, which was highly comprehensive in both the academics and clinical setting. He received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, completed his residency in Family Medicine, and fellowship in Sports Medicine. He is board certified by both the American Board of Family Medicine and Sports Medicine.Dr. Classie's specialties are sports concussions, non-operative orthopedics, joint and tissue infections, non-operative treatment of arthritis, and sports related injuries. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Orthopedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine and is the Sports Medicine Medical Director. Dr. Classie is affiliated with NewYork-Presbyterian Queens hospital and NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell.
