Biography: I am a pediatric gastroenterologist who strives to provide comprehensive care for children in the context of their families. I specialize in conditions that affect the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, and focus on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)both Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.As Director of the Pediatric IBD Center at Columbia and former director of Pediatric GI Inpatient Services at New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital, I collaborate with a team of experts who regularly tackle the most unique and complex challenges in medicine. If your child is experiencing a routine condition, we will treat it as the most important condition your family has faced. We combine advanced techniques of diagnosisin the lab and through state-of-the-art endoscopy and comprehensive imagingwith targeted treatment that includes both medication and advanced procedures.I am naturally an educator, of children and families and also of medical students, residents, and fellows. I lead the training of future healthcare professionals in both the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Institute of Human Nutrition.I also serve in local and national efforts to improve the care of gastrointestinal diseases. I am the vice chair of the Clinical Care and Quality Committee of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and former co-chair of the greater New York chapter Healthcare Professional Engagement Committee of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. In these roles I have collaborated with colleagues across many institutions to make fundamental improvements in medicine across the country.Finally, I am committed to advancing pediatric medicine and facilitating innovation. My research focuses on improving the ways in which we deliver care, spanning specialized techniques of endoscopy to targeted treatments in Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. I am the recipient of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Advanced Fellowship in Pediatric Endoscopy award.

Biography: Dr. Robbyn Sockolow is Vice Chair for Ambulatory Care Services - Access and Strategy, Chief of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, and Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine, and AttendingPediatrician at NewYork-Presbyterian Phyllis and David Komansky Children's Hospital at Weill Cornell Medical Center. She is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology and is also a certified Physician Nutrition Specialist. Shehas beenselected for New York Magazine's Top Doctors, Castle Connelly's America's Top Doctors, and as a New York "Super Doctor."A pioneer in making capsule endoscopy more user-friendly for children with her "jellybean test," Dr. Sockolow's clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) (Crohn's and ulcerative colitis), celiac disease, capsule endoscopy, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and GI disease related to Autism Spectrum Disorders. After receiving two B.A.s at Emory College in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Sockolow completed her medical degree (M.D.) at New York Medical College. She continued her medical training at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City, where she completed her residency in Pediatrics. Biography: Dr. Haley Zylberberg's clinical focus is general gastroenterology, with a specialization in celiac disease. Biography: Alessandro Fichera, MD, is the Chief of the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian and Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Alessandro Fichera received his medical degree from Catholic University of Rome, Italy in 1989 as a Magna cum Laude graduate and completed his internship and residency in general surgery at the 2nd University of Rome and then again at the University of Chicago followed by fellowship training in colorectal surgery at Mount Sinai in New York. He accepted an Assistant Professor position the University of Chicago in 2002 and became the Program Director for the Colon and Rectal Surgery Residency Training Program. In 2012, Dr. Fichera accepted a position as Professor at the University of Washington. In 2014, Dr. Fichera was named Section Chief of Gastrointestinal Surgery and in 2015 he became the Clinical Director for the Gastrointestinal Oncology Program for the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and Associate Medical Director for Colorectal, Surgical Care and Outcomes Assessment Program as part of the Foundation for Health Care Quality.In November 2017 he moved to University of North Carolina as the Division Chief of Gastrointestinal Surgery. In September 2019 he moved to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas where he was the Division Chief of Colorectal Surgery, President Elect of the Medical Staff and the Surgery Safety and Quality Officer. He was the NSQIP and ERAS surgeon champion and the co-director of the NAPRC accredited Rectal Cancer Program.
