He completed his surgical residency at the hospitals affiliated with Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, Dayton, OH. During his training, Dr. Taylor was Chief Surgical Resident. He joined Miami County Surgeons in 1999 and Premier Physician Network in 2006. Dr. Taylor serves on several committees at Upper Valley Medical Center and Surgery Department Chair (2016). He has been a fellow with the American College of Surgeons since 2002. Currently, Dr. Taylor is assistant clinical professor of surgery at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine.

He completed his residency at Bethesda Family Practice in Cincinnati, OH. After his residency, Dr. Harju served as a family practice physician in the United States Air Force.
