Biography: Dr. Weston Packard, DPM is a Davis County native. He received his bachelor's degree from Utah State University followed by Midwestern University in Arizona for his medical training. He completed a 3 year surgical residency at Intermountain Medical Center where he was trained extensively in surgical correction of advanced pathology of the foot and ankle. Emphasis was also provided in non-invasive conservative techniques to help patients return to activities they enjoy. He was chief resident during his final year of training. Dr. Packard grew up working and playing in the mountains, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, boating, and camping, activities he continues to enjoy today. He enjoys most of all spending time with his wife and two girls.

Care Philosophy: One of Dr. Hoopes' mentors, Dr. Sigvard T. Hansen taught Dr. Hoopes the principle of identifying the cause of an ailment and to not just focus attention on the symptoms. As Dr. Hansen likes to say ``Nothing happens for no reason.`` By taking the time and effort to figure out why a patient has their injury, Dr. Hoopes hopes to not only treat the current symptoms, but also the root cause of the condition. This unique approach to medicine sets Dr. Hoopes apart from the many doctors and physicians who eagerly jump on a diagnosis and offer operations that may provide some temporary relief, but often lead to a recurrence of the original problem as time passes.
