Biography: Candace Gonzalez, MD is a general surgeon caring for patients in Tallahassee, Florida. Dr. Gonzalez went to the University of Central Florida for her undergraduate degree in microbiology and molecular biology. She went on to complete medical school and residency at the University of South Florida. Dr. Gonzalez finished her 5 year residency as a chief resident. She has participated in several mission trips with the goal of mission work in the future. Dr. Gonzalez has presented her work at local and national meetings including the American College of Surgeons and the Southeastern Surgical Congress and has also published in peer reviewed journals such as The American Surgeon and International Journal of Abdominal Wall and Hernia Surgery. She has written book chapters along with her mentors in the field of upper gastrointestinal surgery and pancreatic malignancies.

Biography: Dr. Yi (Wilson) Wang is a board-certified Surgeon at HCA Florida Lake City Surgical Specialists. He earned his medical degree and Ph.D. in Neuroscience in Shanghai China, from a top-ranking institution nationally and globally. Dr. Wang completed his Neurosurgery residency there, and he later practiced as an attending neurosurgeon with a focus on neurosurgery and neurovascular intervention.In 2005, Dr. Wang came to US as a visiting fellow in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Virginia, then worked as a neuroscientist there and published numerous articles and book chapters and presented on many conferences. He then underwent a general surgery internship at the University of Virginia and PGY-2 training at Lincoln Medical Center, Weill Cornell Medical College.Although Dr. Wang returned to work as a neuroscientist at the University of Virginia due to immigration legalities. Once he became a US permanent resident, he completed his general surgery training at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Harrisburg Surgery Residency.Dr. Wang's passion lies in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgeries. He firmly believes in the potential of these techniques to enhance patient outcomes and recovery. Equipped with extensive research and training, he performs various surgical procedures, including laparoscopic, endoscopic, and robotic general surgery.Besides his professional achievements, Dr. Wang is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Shanghainese. He is married to an experienced nurse practitioner specializing in transplant surgery, and they have three sons. In his leisure time, Dr. Wang enjoys photography, with his work being featured in hospital magazines and recognized on photography social media platforms.
