Biography: Phillip Heyse, MD, FACS, is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati, OH. He completed his residency in General Surgery at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, OH. Dr. Heyse is board certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He has been awarded with Dayton Magazine's Dayton's Best Docs 2023 and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Heyse is a dedicated general surgeon with a particular interest on improving the lives of patients requiring dialysis access. He provides comprehensive surgical care for individuals with chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease (ESRD), and dialysis access needs alongside a broad range of acute care surgical conditions. As a general surgeon, he performs procedures such as arteriovenous fistula creation, peritoneal dialysis catheter placement, laparoscopic-assisted VP shunt placement, appendectomy, bowel resection, and hernia repair. Biography: Michelle DeGroat, MD, FACS graduated from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and completed the Wright State University General Surgery Residency Program. Dr. DeGroat is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the American Hernia Society. She is an Associate Clinical Professor at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and is the Chairman of the Premier Health system-wide general service line. Dr. DeGroat is board certified in General Surgery and Breast Ultrasound. Dr. DeGroat specializes in general surgery as well as critical care medicine and robotic surgery. She has a special interest in breast cancer, including high risk breast cancer, and provides breast cancer evaluations and care and performs nipple sparing mastectomies. Dr. DeGroat also focuses on surgical treatment for colon cancer. Her otherareas of interest include hernia repair and complex hernia repair.
