Biography: Dr. Christopher Messana obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and then graduated from Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. After residency, he enjoyed a busy general and surgical dermatology practice in Northern Michigan for approximately three years. Dr. Messana was then selected from an exceptionally qualified pool of applicants to complete an additional year of fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to his expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of all diseases of the skin, hair, and nails, Dr. Messana has particular interest and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of all forms of skin cancer and specializes in skin cancer surgery and reconstruction. He is a member of the prestigious American College of Mohs Surgery. Dr. Messana is published in the dermatology literature and has presented on many topics in dermatology at national, international and state dermatology meetings, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and the Michigan Dermatological Society. He currently serves on the Editorial Advisory Board to Dermatology World magazine, a publication of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Christopher Messana is married to Dr. Kate Messana and they have two beautiful daughters.
