Biography: Alex Johnson Addo, MD MPH is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He is a board-certified general surgeon who is fellowship trained in minimally invasive and robotic surgery. He graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his residency in general surgery at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. He also completed a research fellowship at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Maryland focusing on patient-driven-outcomes of minimally invasive benign foregut and complex abdominal wall reconstruction surgery. He has published his research in peer-reviewed journals and presented at professional conferences both nationally and internationally. He continues to be actively engaged in hernia related research. After graduating from general surgery residency, Dr. Addo underwent fellowship training in minimally invasive foregut and complex abdominal wall surgery at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland. Dr. Addo employs advanced minimally invasive techniques in repairing inguinal, ventral, incisional and complex abdominal wall hernias. Biography: Dr. Subhash Krishnamoorthy is a dual trained physician in general surgery and critical care medicine. He was born in India and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. He received his undergraduate degree in Medical & Health Physics at McMaster University. He completed his General Surgery residency and a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Columbia University New York Presbyterian Hospital. He joined the faculty as Assistant Professor of Surgery in 2018. His focus is centered on providing surgical solutions to acutely and critically ill patients. This extends from acute care surgery and surgical critical care to extracorporeal membrane oxygenation in respiratory and cardiac failure. He is passionate about patient-centered medicine, medical education, and collaborative initiatives to improve the quality of care.

Biography: Ziyad Nasrawi, M.D., is a Bariatric and General Surgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Brooklyn and assistant professor of clinical surgery at Weil Cornell Medicine. Dr. Nasrawi performs minimally invasive bariatric, laparoscopic and robotic procedures. Including sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, single anastomosis duodenal intestinal bypass (SADI), and revisional bariatric surgery. Dr. Nasrawi also specializes in foregut surgery including hiatal hernia, paraesophageal hernia, Nissen fundoplication and achalasia. He offers a minimally invasive approach to inguinal, ventral and incisional hernia with a passion for diastasis recti repair and abdominal wall reconstruction. Dr. Nasrawi graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. Biography: Nicole D. Goulet is a Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon. Dr. Goulet earned her undergraduate degree from Smith College. She completed her medical educationand residency at University of Connecticut. She then went on to complete her Trauma and Critical Care Fellowship and her first year in practice at Rutgers University in Newark, NJ before she began working at NYU Langone in 2018. She served as the Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit in Brooklyn, NY for the past three years.Dr. Goulet is one of the founders of the Association of Out Surgeons and Allies (AOSA) and was the Founding President. She completed herGeneral Surgery Residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.She earned her Medical Doctorate and Master of PublicHealth degrees from The University of Arizona College ofMedicine and the Zuckerman College of Public Health. Biography: Ryan Lucero, M.D., is the program director of the surgical residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. He graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Mathematics. He then received his medical degree from The University of Toledo College of Medicine. His general surgery residency training was completed at Cleveland Clinic Akron General. Following surgical residency, Dr. Lucero completed a fellowship in Trauma/Surgical Critical Care at Temple University Hospital, Lewis Katz School of Medicine.His first appointment was at OhioHealth, Grant Medical Center as a trauma and acute care surgeon where he spent 5 years as core faculty and 3 years as site director and associate program director for OhioHealth Doctors Hospital general surgery residency. During that time he established a trauma in situ simulation curriculum. In 2024, he was recruited to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital as the program director for general surgery residency. His clinical practice includes trauma, acute care surgery, and surgical critical care. His special interests include surgical education, curriculum development, and simulation as well as new faculty development and mentorship.
