Biography: James I. Tikellis, M.D., joined Christiana Care as a general surgeon most recently from a private practice at Christiana Care Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute. Dr. Tikellis is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of General Surgery. Dr. Tikellis earned his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. He completed his residency in general surgery and fellowship in trauma and critical care medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He is a member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and American Society of Breast Surgeons.

Biography: Dr. Ziesat is an advanced laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgeon. She completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the University of Maryland, where she received specialized training in diseases of the stomach and esophagus, bariatrics, hernia repair, endoscopy and gastrointestinal surgery. Biography: Dr. Mackey is a board certified surgeon specializing in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. He received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and completed his residency training in general surgery, as well as his hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. His primary interests are benign and malignant diseases of the liver, pancreas, biliary system and gastrointestinal tract. Dr. Mackey was named a Top Doc by Baltimore Magazine in 2010, 2011, and 2012 for Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery. He was also named among the Top Up and Coming Surgeons in 2013 by Washingtonian Magazine.

Biography: Dr. Alexander R. Aurora (MD, FACS, MSc) is a board certified Fellow of the American College of Surgeons with expertise in Advanced Minimally Invasive technics for both general and bariatric surgery. He completed his Bachelors and Masters degree at McGill and University of Ottawa in Canada. He received his medical degree from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland in 2000. Dr. Aurora completed his general surgery training at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. In 2011 Dr. Aurora completed a fellowship in advanced minimally invasive surgery and bariatrics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Aurora performs more than 95% of his cases laparoscopically including ventral, inguinal and hiatal hernia repair, colon resection, sleeve gastrectomy and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. Dr. Aurora is fluent in English, French and speaks some German and Romanian. Dr. Aurora has significant interest in surgical technology, improving patient care and safety.
