Dr. Bates has a number of certifications including Advanced Surgical Skills for Exposure in Trauma, Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Advanced Trauma Life Support. Biography: Patrick A. Larreategui, DO, FACOS is a board certified, general surgeon who received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, East Lansing, MI. He completed his general surgery residency at Botsford General Hospital, Farmington Hills, MI. He joined Miami County Surgeons in 2003. Dr. Larreategui has been a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons since 2006. He is active on several committees at Upper Valley Medical Center and has served in several positions; 2nd Vice President of Medical Staff (2016), Chair of Credentialing Committee (2015), Surgery Department Chair 2013-2015.

He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology/general surgery at Wright State University/Wright Patterson Air Force Medical Center. Dr. Reid completed a fellowship in oncology at the University of Michigan. He is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and gynecologic oncology.

Biography: Daniel Butler, MD, FACS graduated from University of Indiana School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. He completed residency from Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. Dr. Butler is board certified in general surgery. Dr. Butler is a Fellow of American College of Surgeons and a member of Throckmorton Surgical Society, The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, and American Trauma Society. He has practiced at Roosevelt Surgical Associates and for more than 25 years and served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 30 years.

Biography: James E. de Caestecker, DO, FACS is a graduate of Boston College and the University of Health Sciences College of Medicine. He completed his residency in General Surgery at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Medical Center of Central Massachusetts, The Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Dr. de Caestecker is certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He has a special interest in colon, rectal, and GERD/reflux surgery. He has been associated with Gem City Surgical Associates since 2002.
